GENERATIVE AI IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF KNOWLEDGE-BASED SYSTEMS

The paper explores the impact of generative AI on the development of Knowledge-Based Systems. The article is based on a qualitative mapping of recent contributions of generative AI to Knowledge-Based Systems, with a narrative review of works published since 2022, including theses, articles, and conference publications. The results reveal 15 approaches demonstrating how generative AI can enhance processes of searching, constructing, classifying, retrieving, and communicating knowledge in Knowledge-Based Systems. The integration of generative AI with Knowledge-Based Systems can lead to more creative and relevant solutions, as well as point out future directions for this intersection.
