Abstract: The purpose of this work is to analyze the service of the crime scene from the perspective of general systems theory and to understand which factors identified may contribute to the determination of criminal accountability. A methodology of a basic nature was used, with an narrative review, a qualitative approach and descriptive realization, with the technical procedures of bibliographic and documentary survey. The research resulted in the criminal investigation being divided into preliminary and follow-up, the analysis of the crime scene being fundamental in the gathering of information in the first phase and, consequently, in the success of the second phase. In addition, despite the heterogeneity of the crime scene depending on the criminal offense related to it, there are systems that seek to reproduce the crime scene in aid of decision making to elucidate the hidden fact.
