Abstract

The Litmaps platform employs advanced software features and artificial intelligence  algorithms to assist researchers in conducting literature reviews more quickly and rigorously. Litmaps stands out for its intuitive interface and advanced features for suggesting related studies, identifying gaps, and enhancing analysis. These suggestions can be determined based on user engagement and interface qualities, which enhance the process of knowledge sharing and creation. Robust tools and methods for knowledge management are necessary for the maturation of scientific research in general. Thus, this article defines agency as user engagement and interactivity as a platform quality. The method employed to analyze Litmaps is Close Reading, which enables a detailed and thorough investigation of the interface through the analytical lens of interaction and agency. The main result of this study is that Litmaps represents an evolution in literature review tools, offering a more efficient, rigorous, and interactive approach, ultimately improving the quality and speed of scientific production.
