Abstract

Innovating in your actual field while also exploring future opportunities is a
challenge that companies can overcome if they become ambidextrous. However, to do so, they may need extra resources. Thus, although studies point to positive relationships between open innovation and organizational ambidexterity to address this issue, there is little consensus regarding the evidence on how this influence occurs. Through a systematic review
of the literature, this study showed that open innovation can be used to balance exploration processes in companies with a focus on explotation, as well as being a guide in acting in two types of processes, or act as a supporter in a general aspect.
