Carrying out a training and people development program in an organization goes far beyond just the
established strategies. The employees personal yearnings become of paramount importance for the
effectiveness of a proposed program. The training needs survey is a tool used by many companies to
identify training opportunities for a particular employee or team. This tool also determines the proposed
theme, in addition to the methods to be used for the execution of the training over a period. The
identification of a methodology appropriate to the profile of each organization, as well as the joint
definition of themes to be trained, improves the organizational climate, as well as transporting the
collaborator into the strategic planning of an organization aimed at innovation. This article, therefore,
intends to identify the relations existing between the survey of training needs and the employees
satisfaction with the themes and methods established by the companies. For that, a qualitative,
exploratory, descriptive and documentary research was carried out with employees in a software
development company in the Florianópolis region, Santa Catarina. In general terms, through an
interview, it was found that more adequate methodology is needed for the existing profile in the
organization studied.
