Abstract

The Graduate Program in Knowledge Engineering, Management, and Media (PPGEGC) at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) encompasses three areas of concentration: Knowledge Engineering, Knowledge Management, and Knowledge Media. The interaction among these areas, as well as between students and faculty, creates an interdisciplinary environment that includes diverse backgrounds and perspectives. This article assesses the impact of this interdisciplinary approach on the academic trajectory of students in the Knowledge Media area. The methodology is qualitative, including data collection through semi-structured interviews, analyzed within a theoretical framework on interdisciplinarity. The results reveal a positive evaluation of the program by students, despite the challenges faced in making interdisciplinarity fully effective for both students and the program.
