THE PRESENCE OF THE ORGANIZATIONAL ROLES OF THE TRIPLE HELIX IN A NUCLEUS OF TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION OF THE SOUTHERN REGION OF BRAZIL
Abstract
The triple helix consists of an innovation model based on existing collaborative relationship between government, industry and universities in a region. In the scenario where they operate, each triple helix member exercises distinct and relevant organizational roles. In the present study, was used the Belbin Role Theory (1981) with the the purpose of identify the presence of organizational roles of the triple helix in a technological innovation core of southern Brazil. The main action categories of that theory are: leadership, mediation, creativity and production. This research is qualitative approach is descriptive, bibliographical and it is a case study. Primary data were collected through the application of a questionnaire to 12 members of institutions belonging to the triple helix of technological innovation nucleus presented in this study. Data analysis was made of descriptive and comparative manner, showing the relations described by the respondents. The results indicate that the university involved is perceived as Networker; Bonder, Bridger, Controller; Ruler; Investigator and Evaluator, while companies consider Implementer; Bonder; Controller; Creator and Evaluator, and the government stands as Bonder and Ruler.
